סיימון מולומבי - Si’s Workshop

Si’s method is designed to integrate the player with the sound that they are creating.

Si teaches specific ‘odd time signature’ didj grooves with breathing patterns designed to break conditioned cycles. Most players tend to breath in a similar place rhythmically regardless of the groove. Si teaches another approach to breathing.

Furthermore you will also be guided through the more important technical things to do with calls, trumpets and obtaining a deeper textured drone. ……….As well as a splash of 2008 didj philosophy!!!!!

Emphasis is placed on the thorough right-brain enjoyment of playing rather than left-brain rigorous practice!

סיימון מולומבי – Si

Si Mullumby, better known as didge Si from Wild Marmalade, is one of the leading contemporary didgeridoo players in the world. He has a powerful style that blends traditional sounds with syncopated dance based rhythms. Combing his sound with drum kit and percussion he creates an infectious groove that is impossible to resist.
Si has toured with Wild Marmalade extensively throughout Europe, Japan and Australia. Recently they played main stage at the Boom festival in Portugal during their 2008 European tour and supported Infected Mushroom in Cairns, Australia. Si played with Israel’s Sheva on several occasions during their Australian tour. He is the only didgeridoo player to have had a contract with Cirque du Soleil in Las Vegas.
Si was inspired to play after a mystical experience on a beach in India. Standing on top of Aum beach in Gokarna he heard the sound of the earth resonating. It was the sound of the didgeridoo. He returned to Australia left his study of Medicine and surrended to the way of the didgeridoo. This was 15 years ago.
“I am excited to come and play in Israel. Over all the years I have made many friends and found that I have a strong resonance with the people of Israel. I know that the ground there has an electric power that I know will come through in the music. The didgeridoo is a channel for this earth-based power. I am excited to meet and play with Amir from Tribal Dance. I have heard good things and I am looking forward to being there with you all!!!”
